The Kinship Program: Wildlife, People, and Place

Ontario's Turtles Need You

Our goal is to release 5,000 hatchlings a year. To get there, we need everyone to know what’s at stake and stand with us to support these amazing turtle species.

In Eastern Georgian Bay, where the traditional territory of Magnetawan First Nation is found, painted, Blanding’s, map, and snapping turtles have swum these waters for millions of years. Today, they’re disappearing. Habitat loss, poaching, and road mortality have pushed them to the brink.

One minute is all it takes. Leave your name, email, and address below and we’ll send you a free Ontario Turtle Supporter sticker—You will also receive more information on how Magnetawan First Nation and the Wilder Institute are helping to grow turtle populations using the process of “head-starting’.

Put the sticker on your water bottle, your car, your laptop — and let it do what stickers do best: start a conversation. Every person who learns their story becomes part of the effort to protect them.
