Wild creatures and wild places will save us. If we save them first.
Saving species, protecting habitats and promoting sustainable living requires a global approach based on sound science. Every species we reintroduce and every community we equip with the means to conserve their own natural resources begins with you. Learn about the ways that you can get involved and help us make the world a wilder place.
Make an online donation
As a registered Canadian conservation charity, the Wilder Institute depends on your financial support. You can specify where you would like your donation to go or allow us to direct your support where it is most needed.
Become a monthly donor! No matter the amount, monthly donations add up and can have a lasting impact for our conservation programs.
WildCare Adopt-a-Species program
With your symbolic adoption, the Wilder Institute can secure a future for endangered species across Canada and the world.
Fundraise for wildlife
Celebrating a birthday, wedding, or other special event? Or maybe you have another idea? You can quickly and easily set up your own custom fundraising page and invite your friends and family to make a donation in lieu of gifts.
Like a chameleon, wildlife conservation gifts to the Wilder Institute can take on many colours — a donation in your will, gifts of RRSP’s, gifts of securities, legacy gifts, and more. We can work with you to create a meaningful plan that can help minimize your taxes and create a lasting legacy.
Gift of securities
Did you know that when you donate securities directly to the Wilder Institute, you don’t have to pay capital gains tax and you’re able to give the full value of your securities to a cause meaningful to you?
Become a sponsor
A sponsorship with the Wilder Institute allows your company to contribute to a wilder future while also meeting your business objectives. By contributing cash or in-kind gifts of products or services, your company can make a difference for our natural heritage and link your brand with an international leader in wildlife conservation.
Since 2004, the Calgary Zoo has hosted the Wild Run – previously named the Gorilla Run – where the running community would raise money and awareness for animal conservation. This unique 16km race begins at St. Patrick’s Island and winds its way through the zoo before the gates are open to the public. All funds raised from the Wild Run go towards supporting conservation programs here at the Wilder Institute.
Not sure which of the ways to give is the right one for you or know what you’d like to do but have questions? We can help.
