Make a Symbolic Adoption Today!
Iconic Canadian species, like the Vancouver Island marmot, burrowing owl, and whooping cranes are all at-risk.
Canada’s most endangered mammal, the Vancouver Island marmot is endemic to British Columbia’s Vancouver Island. In 2003, only 30 individuals remained in the wild but through collaborative efforts, the wild Vancouver Island marmot population has grown to over 200.
Burrowing owls have long called the Canadian prairies home, but as few as 270 breeding pairs of burrowing owls remain in Canada. This makes them one of the most endangered birds in the grasslands, but through collaboration and innovative programs like head-starting, burrowing owls are making a return to the prairies.
With your symbolic adoption, the Wilder Institute can continue these vital conservation initiatives.
